Original recipe makes 1 frosting for 1 cake
  •  2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
  •  1/2 cup butter
  •  6 tablespoons milk
  •  3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  •  1 pinch salt
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine chocolate, butter and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and beat in confectioners' sugar, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth, adjusting consistency with milk or sugar, if necessary.
